Another of my tour footage samplers, this time for Atreyu . I was their European tour manager . This Tour was supporting Sepultura in 2003 . I have cut out and edited the live performances so not to infringe on Victory Records copyright. So it's mainly snippets of festivals and fucking around backstage etc...

Marc McKnight spoke with StaticMultimedia about touring. Below is an excerpt.

Static Multimedia: Do you have any tour stories?

Marc: Well, there was this one girl in Miami that was just hammered out of her mind. And you know, semi-attractive, and she's just HAMMERED, like sloppy drunk, right? And she somehow makes her way on our bus. She wasn't, like, at the show with us. She just wanted to see the bands, you know what I mean? So she got on our bus and we kept trying to pass her off to one of our friends or one of the crew members but she was like, "No, I want one of the band!" And she was just like riding people and stuff. So she goes in the back with someone…who shall remain nameless, and they were, you know, enjoying themselves in the back, but she had left her phone up front. So one of our friends took a picture of his balls and sent it to everyone on her contact list and said, "Sorry, I'm busy being a nut!!" So yeah, that's a pretty good story.

A Note About The Pic Of The Day

The Atreyu Pic of the Day is gonna change a bit. I will no longer be posting a new photo once a day. Instead, I will be posting 7 photos every Sunday. (See post below). I am doing this for two reasons.

First, as Atreyu continues their tour the news is getting slow. I don't want all the news posts to be nothing but pictures. Second, as I only have about 6 more months of college (my second undergraduate degree) I am getting very busy.

Of course, I will continue to update as the news comes. Please continue to send me news links when you can!

"I don't think there was a day where we said "This is what the album's going to sound like," it just kind of came out that way. It made sense that we were drawing from our previous work. We'd work on parts here and there and say "That kinda sounds like 2003. That kinda sounds like a couple years ago." It wasn't conscious, it just came out that way."

Congregation's Positions On Other Charts

Thanks to an anonymous commenter who sent me to a link here which gives Congregation of the Damned's positions on other charts. The link is here.

And to anyone who "feels bad" for Atreyu as I've seen, please remember that album sales do not equal quality of album itself. Miley Cyrus and the Jonas Brothers certainly sell a lot of albums. Does that make them better than Atreyu?

Congregation Debut's At #18 On Billlboard

Atreyu's new album Congregation of the Damned has debuted at number 18 on the Billboard 200 selling 26,000 copies. Although it is not as high as Lead Sails Paper Anchors (debuted at number 8), it is still really good.

I blame the economy. And Atreyu is not the only band to feel the economic shitstorm. AFI released their highly anticipated Crash Love this year which debuted at number 13 in it's first week in comparison to it's 2006 predecessor Decemberunderground which debuted at number 2. Even though their newer album did not sell as well, it is still regarded by their fans as a better album than it's predecessor.

Either way, congrats to the boys for still doing well on sales and of course congrats for making such an amazing fucking album which is still very much their best in my opinion.

We went to New York City after winning the Unite the United/Music Saves Lives meet & greet. We hung out with the guys on the streets of NYC.
